

Thelmina Goffe, affectionately known as "mama" to all who loved her, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 1, 2026, in Springfield, Massachusetts, of natural causes. She was 93 years old.
Born on 12/25/1932 in Spalding, Clarendon, Jamaica, to Mina Thompson. Thelmina grew into a woman of extraordinary warmth, grace, and quiet strength. Thelmina spent the majority of her childhood and adulthood in Jamaica, where she worked as a seamstress and later married her lifelong partner, and husband, Alton Goffe. Thelmina was a proud and loving mother to ten kids. She and her family emigrated from Jamaica to Springfield, Massachusetts, in the late 80s, where she became an avid fan of both the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. A devoted Christian who attended weekly church services, she also worked and retired from Springfield College. She later relocated to Loxahatchee, Florida, in the early 2000s, where she resided for the next 20-plus years.
Thelmina had briefly relocated back to Springfield, MA, where she peacefully passed.
Thelmina was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Alton Goffe, in 2020, and her sister Lorraine Wyatt in 2025, she is survived by her daughters Janet McKenzie, Joan Coombs, Rosemarie Goffe of Springfield, MA, Verona Gerrow of Ft Lauderdale, Pansy Goffe of Virginia, and sons Andrew Goffe of Springfield, MA, and Glenford Goffe of Jamaica, along with a multitude of grand and great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.
A Funeral Service will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, on March 21, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
