

Cobb, Vivian W. age 91 of Oakland Park, FL went to be with her Lord on February 8th, 2012. Born in Statesboro, GA, she had been a longtime local resident, having moved to Fort Lauderdale with her parents and four brothers in 1925. Vivian graduated from Fort Lauderdale HS in 1939, retired as a Lt. from the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 1982 after 31 years of service. Vivian was a member of First Baptist Church since early 1930’s, a member of the Historical Society, Flying “L” Half Century Club, and Pioneer Women’s Club of Fort Lauderdale. Predeceased by her daughter, Linda Cobb Rega, she is survived by her grandchildren: Melissa Rega White, Kevin Joseph Rega, Dr. Eric Mohr, Elizabeth Mohr Altschuler and Emily Mohr Freeman; by son-in-law, Joseph Rega, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Mohr Rega; brother, Elliott A. Woods and sister-in-law, Dot; eight great grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. Although she will be missed, Vivian will always be remembered by her family and friends as a loving gentle mother and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Visitation will be 10-11:00am Saturday, February 11th with an 11:00am memorial service at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4061 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.
