

Yvonne "Vonnie" V. Chang, born on July 4, 1945, in Porus, Jamaica, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 80. Vonnie was a resident of Palm Bay, Florida, and was known for her adventurous spirit, humor, and kind-hearted nature.
Vonnie was the beloved daughter of Wilson Chang and Ena McDiarmid, both of whom predeceased her. She pursued her education with dedication, achieving a bachelor's degree. Her career was marked by her role as a Registered Dietician for the Board of Education in New York City, where she was an inspirational figure to many.
Family was at the heart of Vonnie's life. She is survived by her siblings Elaine, Wilmore, Norma, and Patrick, while Godfrey and Melva are remembered fondly. Yvonne was a cherished aunt to 17 nieces and nephews: Heralda, Melvaree, Kimberly, William, Patrice, Bradman, Chauncey, Michael, Billy, Athena, Isona, Maxsan, Grahame, Rodger, Norma, Colin and Courtney.
In her personal life, Vonnie had a passion for music, dancing, and movies. She loved eating, visiting botanical gardens, and spending time with her family. Known for her sense of humor, she was a jokester who brought smiles to those around her. Vonnie had a special place in her heart for her peers at the assisted living facility, often helping them and jokingly claiming to be a worker there.
A visitation will be held on December 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Kraeer Funeral Home, located at 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. The funeral service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the same venue. The committal service will take place at 2:00 pm Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, also located at 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. A repast will be held immediately following the committal Kraeer Funeral Home.
