Annie Ruth Lessel

Annie Ruth Lessel, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Pontotoc Hospital. She was born August 6, 1926 to George Spence and Reathe Rebecca Dunlap Littlejohn. Annie Ruth attended Center Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Browning Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tracy Quillian and Rev. Keith Cobb officiating; burial will follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her three children, Jimmie Dale Lessel (Pam), Mary Ann Quillian (Berlon) and LaWanda Hale (Ronnie); six grandchildren, Tracy Quillian (Tab), Mellanie McWhirter (Brock), Jeremy Lessel, Jason Lessel (Melody), Chris Hale (Alissa) and Jessica Hale; eleven great-grandchildren, Chandler Lessel, Landon Lessel, Katilyn Forman (Tyler), Jesse Lessel, Courtney Quillian (Catherine), Alana Busby (Will), Madison Wilson (Gabe), Aron Hale, Bella Grace Hayes, Elizabeth Hale and Hayden Hale and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hollis Lessel; two sisters, Ora Dye and Gertrude Stacks; a brother, David Littlejohn, Sr. and a great-grandson, Russ Bailey McWhirter.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday and from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday, all at the funeral home.
