Bernice McDonald Neel, 95, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden. She was born March 28, 1917, to Samuel and Emma McDonald. She was member of Ecru Baptist Church. She was a bookkeeper for McClure’s Furniture Store and the Tennessee Department of Welfare. She was a veteran of World War II serving in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will be in Ecru Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte (Al) Barton; one son, Henry E. Neel, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Gloria McDonald; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ellis Neel, Sr.; her parents; one sister; and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, and until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
