Linda was a member of the Pontotoc City High School Class of 1967 where she was a cheerleader, a member of the Triple Trio Choir, the tennis team and Homecoming Queen. She then graduated from Northeast Community College with an LPN nursing degree. Her career in nursing spanned many years , during which she worked for Dr. Jordan and Dr. Hubbard. She retired from nursing in 2016 after serving many years as the Staff Nurse at Lane Furniture. She loved being a nurse and her patients dearly.
Linda had a passion for watching SEC sports, especially Ole Miss Football. She loved her dog Daisy and they both loved watching the Rebels on TV when she was no longer able to go in person. She loved playing the piano and listening to Gospel music but most of all, she loved her family.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pontotoc where she was baptized and sang in the choir for many years. She was a recent member of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class.
In 1969, Linda married Thomas Wade Butler and they had 3 sons that they raised together. She enjoyed watching each of them play sports and participate in school activities. Tommy and Linda were married for 24 years.
On 10/04/2014 at an Ole Miss Football game Linda was reunited with a former classmate that she hadn't seen in 47 years, Jimmy "JC" Caldwell. They were married on May 21, 2016 and enjoyed 9 years of marriage together watching their Grandchildren play sports and other school activities. She loved JC with all her heart.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy "JC" and her 3 sons. Ashley Butler (Christy), Ken Butler (Buffie), Kris Butler (Rebecca),her bonus children Landon Caldwell (Haven) and her bonus Son in law Ben Albarracin. Her Grandchildren: Anna Butler Wallace (Andrew), Anthony Wheeler, Bryce Butler (Brianna), Dustin Albarracin, Mary Kate Butler Mills (Peyton), Broc Butler, Mollie Butler, Simon Butler and Hudson Butler. Her Greatgrandchildren: Ava Wallace, Baker Wallace and Willa Butler, as well as her brother Jimmy Kenney (Angie) and her sister Melissa Kenney along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sue Carroll and Clark Kenney, her bonus daughter, Allison Albarracin and 2 bonus fathers, Henry Whitfield and Bill Carroll.
Pallbearers will be Brooks Kenney, Jackson Kenney, Peyton Mills, Terry Butler, Simon Butler and Andrew Wallace.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 6, 2026 from 11-1:00 at First Baptist Church- 31 W. Washington St. Pontotoc, MS. and the funeral will follow immediately at 1:00 pm.
Dr. David Hamilton and Dr. Ken Hester will be officiating.
A private family graveside service will follow at the Pontotoc Memorial Park by Browning Funeral Home.
