
Q.T. Tutor, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Pontotoc Extended Care Center at the age of 94. He was born February 24, 1921, in Toccopola, MS the third child of Anderson Gusta and Mattie Williams Tutor. He was a retired farmer, trader and antique collector, who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and his family. He also served in the CCC Camp in the 1930’s in Arizona and Colorado, worked in the shipyards in New Orleans, and in the oil fields in Oklahoma.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Scooter Noland officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2:00 PM Monday. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his three daughters; Diann Easterling (Larry) of Pontotoc, MS, Clarice Turner (Fred) of Friendship and Regina Tutor (Gary) of Memphis, TN; five surviving sons: Floyd Tutor, Chuck Tuto and Mark Tutor (Deidre) all of Ecru, MS, Q.T.Tutor, Jr. (Mary) of Pontotoc, MS and JackieTutor (Peggie) of Endville; twenty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; and three brothers: Billy Leon Tutor and Odis Dean Tutor of Big Sandy, TX and Travis Glen of Dallas, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents,his wife Addlene Garner Tutor of 58 years; a son: Nathan Tutor; two sisters: Verdis Weeden and Editha Ellison; four brothers: A.G. Tutor, Alton Tutor, Hoyt Tutor and Orville Tutor;; and two great-grandchildren: Harrison Tutor and Anne Claire Brantley.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the Cairo Baptist Church.
