William "Bill" L. Sneed

Pontotoc - William L. "Bill" Sneed, 71, of Pontotoc passed away on November 11, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May, 23, 1945 in Tupelo to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Sneed Jr. He received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He received his law degree from the University of Mississippi and was also a member of the local and state Bar Assc. Bill practiced law in Pontotoc for almost fifty years and was City Attorney for a number of years. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pontotoc.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Beth Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his brother, Jim Sneed of Tupelo; sister-in-law, Patti Sneed Stark of Pontotoc; niece, Laura Sneed Clark (Bert) of Rolling Fork and a special friend, Bryce Touchstone of Perth, Australia.

Pallbearers are Joe Hitchcock, George Dent, Jimmy Caldwell, Jimmy Roberts, Scott Yeoman, Jeff Stafford, and Dr. Jim Mark Monroe.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in honor of Bill Sneed to the Mississippi State University General Scholarship Fund.
