Charles Bernard Gallavan, age 73, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his residence in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of New Orleans, LA, he received a mechanical engineering degree from Louisiana State University, and his master’s degree from the University of New Orleans. In past years, Charles taught mathematics at the University of Maryland and was presently employed with Muscogee Nation Services in engineering.
Charles was a good-hearted man who was quick witted with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by his family and friends alike.
Mr. Gallavan was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bernard Gallavan and Marian Betz Gallavan; and brother, John Gallavan. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Beverly Gallavan of Hattiesburg, MS; his son, Charles Gallavan, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, Emily Chester Stoll (Rob) of Hattiesburg; step-son, John Selakovic of Tylertown, MS; and grandson, Parker Rothwell.
Charles will be laid to rest with a private burial Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Cypress Grove Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
