Chuck Sidock, 76, of Poplarville, Mississippi, entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, 14 May 2022 at his residence surrounded by family.

Chuck was born 15 February 1946 in Muskegon, Michigan. He graduated from Fruitport High School, Fruitport, Michigan and immediately joined the military, volunteering for duty in Vietnam. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Troy University, Troy, Alabama.

Chuck retired after 43 years from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. His last duty station was the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Among the numerous medals and awards he received for serving his country, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star for his meritorious work in establishing exceptional food service for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and The Legion of Merit, which was his most treasured and humbling award.

In Germany, he served as Food Service Advisor to the 1st Armored Division under the 7th Army which is the Army’s largest overseas command. 7th Army is responsible for providing and overseeing the training requirements for US Army Europe (USAREUR) as well as North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and partner nation countries. Numerous stateside duty assignments had him crisscrossing the United States from the Pentagon, to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Lewis, Washington, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Lee, Virginia, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Fort Carson, Colorado, and Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Paralleled with his military assignments, Chuck was involved in leadership with Boy Scouts of America. Along with mentoring his three sons, and grandson to the rank of Eagle Scout, he mentored over 100 boys across the United States to the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Wood Badge (4 beads) and the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.

Chuck was a member of the Christian Life Chapel, Hagerstown, Maryland.

He is preceded in death by his parents William John and Thelma Genevieve (Streeter) Sidock, brothers Jack Vanderstelt, and Andrew Sidock. A sister Norma Uber and a grandson Bo Jacob Sidock.

Left to treasure his memories are his wife of 55 years, Nancy Kight Sidock, his four children, Charles Sidock, Jr, John Steven Sidock, Johannah Carol Sidock, and Jason Ray (Carmen Marin) Sidock. Five grandchildren Charles Zachary, Alondra Elsa, Joshua Steven, Sofia Isabel, Abigail Brooke, nephews and nieces, a host of extended friends and family and his faithful canine companion Buddy.

Services will be held at Camp Tiak (64 Camp Tiak Road, Wiggins, MS, 39577) on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
