Dorothy "Marie" Hariel, age 86 passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her home in the Barth Community near Poplarville, Mississippi. Marie was born on August 29, 1939 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was a lifelong member of Community Baptist Church in the Barth Community.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Sonny" Hariel; her granddaughter, Kristen Shaw; grandson, Jeremy Hariel; great-granddaughter, Chanley Fricke; her parents, James Otis Lee Sr. and Mellie Graham Davis; brothers, James Otis Lee Jr., Lenard Lee Sr.; sisters, Linda Cromwell and Evelyn Williams.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Earl Lee; her son, Charles "Chuck" (Denette) Hariel Jr.; daughters, Kathy Dedeaux, Mary Nell (Stevie) Shaw and Rhonda Hariel; grandchildren, Wesley Dedeaux, Randy Dedeaux, Danielle Hariel, Heidi (Brandon) Ladner, Joshua Shaw, Bianca (Brett) Orgeron, Bailey (Cody) Wiggins and Jayden Malley; great-grandchildren, Emilie Dedeaux, Jax Dedeaux, Bethany Saucier, Eli Hariel, Ethan Hariel, Taylor (Selena) Donston, Taliyah Acquah, Caroline Ladner, Brookelyn Garrett, Brayson Garrett, Bryson Garrett, Logan Shaw, Avery Shaw, Addy Shaw, Brant Orgeron, Brewer Orgeron and Suede Wiggins; great-great grandchildren, Cooper Fricke and Zaylie Donston.
Family and friends are invited to Marie's funeral service on Sunday, September 7, 2025 officiated by Bro. Jarred Havard, Bro. Bill Cameron and Bro. Dustin Hariel at Community Baptist Church, 32 Community Church Road, Poplarville, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, with services beginning at 3:00 pm. Burial to follow in the Smith Cemetery in the Steep Hollow Community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Baptist Church Debt Reduction Fund.
