Jesse "Mark" Crawford

Jesse “Mark” Crawford of Lumberton, Mississippi peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 68. Mark was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on May 31, 1957, to Curtis and Pauline Crawford.

After retiring from being a tugboat captain, Mark was able to spend more time enjoying the outdoors and things he loved. He enjoyed to hunt, fish, farm and work in his gardens. Mark will be remembered as a loving husband, father and hard worker. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Crawford and Pauline Palmer Crawford; brother, Wally Crawford; sister, Ginger Fuller and his aunt and uncle Albert and Bessie Cerdas.

Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Betty Sue Henderson Crawford; sons, Jamerson Hakenjos, Jonathan Hakenjos, Jonathan “Johnny” Crawford and Landon Hakenjos; brother, Michael Carl Crawford (Angell Zeringue); nephew, Curt Crawford (Cassidy); and his niece Buffy Singletary (Charles).

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Lumberton City Cemetery beginning at 3:00 PM. The cemetery is located on W. 11th Ave, Lumberton, MS 39455.
