On September 24, 2025, Luke Dean departed this life at the age of 50 to rest in the grave until Jesus comes to call him out with that loud trumpet on resurrection morning! Born on December 3, 1974, to Gary and Alice Dean, Luke demonstrated a deep curiosity and inventive spirit from a young age. While other children were content with conventional pastimes, Luke was already building a sailboat—an early sign of the ingenuity that would shape his life and career. During high school, he secured an internship with Elevating Boats, a formative experience that became a lifelong vocation. After graduating from Lynn Oaks School, Luke transitioned into a full-time role with the company, where he continued to hone his skills and deepen his expertise in marine engineering. As his career advanced, Luke traveled extensively and eventually founded Diotcon LLC, a company based on his own innovative designs for jack-up vessels used in the oil and gas industry. His work was marked by creativity, precision, and a relentless pursuit of better solutions. Outside of his professional achievements, Luke was an adventurer at heart. He found joy in swimming in pristine oceans, scuba diving, and kayaking. He also had a fondness for discovering new restaurants, always eager to experience something fresh and flavorful. Luke’s life was one of purpose, passion, and quiet brilliance. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Luke is preceded in death by his father, Gary Dean and his grandfather, Lynn Dean. Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife of 14 years, Lian; sons, Tyler Ross Dean and Lance Luke Dean; mother, Alice Dean Toomey and step-father, Douglas “Doug” Toomey; grandmother, Jacquelyn Dean; sisters, Donna (John) Roubal, Alicia (Shawn) Nettles, and Teresa “Katelyn” (Christopher) Roig; and his brothers, Cy (Rosemary) Dean, Troy (Shannon) Dean and Jared (Jan) Toomey. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Pearl River Community Seventh Day Adventist Church (509 W. North Street, Poplarville, MS 39470) beginning at 4:00 pm. Luke’s family invites his extended family and friends to attend.
