Margaret Spear

Margaret L. Spear departed this life into God’s presence on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born in Poplarville on August 30,1936, to Dawd and Lela Lewis. Margaret was a native of Poplarville, working at Movie Star and later transferring to the Poplarville School District where she worked in the cafeteria until her retirement. In her spare time, Margaret loved to fish, watch hummingbirds and attend gospel and bluegrass festivals. She will be missed by all who Knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifford P. Spear; sisters, Naomi Myers, Cola Mae Goodson, Ruby Humphrey and Vivian Herbert; brothers, Homer Lewis, Delmer Lewis, Alton Lewis, William Lewis and Johnny Lewis.

Left to forever cherish her memory are her son, Gary (Lynett) Spear; daughters, Terri (Scott) Mauck and Sandy (Chris) Parmeter; grandchildren, Zachary Lee, Tanya (Martin) Wedgeworth, Rusty (Brandy) Spear, Marisa Mauck and Ian Mauck; great-grandchildren, Briana Brady, Brandon Buras and Heather Arnold; and her great-great grandchildren, Destiny, Kelton and Drake; sisters-in-law, Maggie Lewis and Barbara Mikotti and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services, officiated by Bro. Donnie Havard, will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Murray Hill Church of God at 2:00 PM. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from noon until the service begins. Burial will immediately follow at Murray Hill Church of God Cemetery with Zachary Lee, Ian Mauck, Rusty Spear, Martin Wedgeworth, Chris Parmeter, Kirk Mowen, Brandon Buras and Larry Lewis assisting as pallbearers.
