Mary Patricia O'Neill Palmer

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard Metairie, LA 70124 for Mary Patricia (Patty) O’Neill Palmer, 70, of Poplarville, MS who died January 8, 2011 in Poplarville. Burial will be in Lakelawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Poplarville, MS 6:00pm – 9:oopm. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 10:00 am- 11:00 am at Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home in Metairie, LA.

Mrs. Palmer was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church and was instrumental in the fundraising by making and selling jewelry to help build the new church. She was a member of Our Lady of the Pearl Community of the Secular Franciscan Order. She also provided instruction in the Children's Church at St. Joseph's and was active in teaching formation in the Franciscan Order. She held membership in the Poplarville Garden Club and the Poplarville Women’s Club. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Holt O’Neill and Rosemary Lee O’Neill Viguerie, her son: Anthony Joseph “Stony” Gendusa III and her stepfather: Raoul Francois Viguerie.

Survivors include her husband: Robert “Bob” Louis Palmer of Poplarville, MS; one daughter: Anne O’Neill Gendusa Smith of Poplarville, MS; one son Lee Patrick Palmer of Long Beach, MS; two stepsons: Robert “Bobby” Louis Palmer, Jr. and Andrew Grange Palmer, both of New Orleans, LA; one stepsister: Asta Viguerie Cotonio of Covington, LA, one stepbrother: Raoul Francois Viguerie, Jr. of Tuscon, AZ; six grandchildren: Joseph River Smith, James Seth Smith, Alexa Jaye Palmer, Talbot Helen Palmer, Josephine Sanger Palmer, and Grear Elizabeth Palmer.
