Michael R. “Mike” Kirkland departed this life into God’s presence on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the age of 71. He was a beloved husband, father, poppy, brother and friend to all who knew and loved him. Mike was born to Paul and Darthy Kirkland on April 11, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Pearl River County. He graduated from PRCC with a business degree and went on to become a mechanical contractor and owner of a successful business, Southern Building Enterprise, Inc. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Darthy Kirkland. Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Patricia Kirkland; his son, Kyle (Brandi) Kirkland; his grandson, Brayden Kirkland; sisters, Carolyn Smith and Paulette (Hudson) Holliday and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mike liked his fast cars, horses and bad bulls. Graveside services will be held at the Lesil Dedeaux Family Cemetery on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 am.
