Misty Dawn Walker

Misty passed away on August 16, 2025 from heart failure at Forrest General Hospital. She is survived by her mother Marilyn Patricia Homsack of Petal, MS as well as her children, Eric Michael Russell of Purvis, MS, Summer Jaid Rodgers of Moberly, MO, and Mikailah Shey Kindle of Poplarville, MS. And also 4 grandchildren, A.J. Rodgers, Arlyss Kindle, Peyton and Madison Russell.

She was preceded in death by her father Kernis Sherrod Walker and stepfather Michael Stephen Homsack and stepmother Suzette Walker. She also leaves behind 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Kristopher Shawn Walker of Petal, MS, Sean Kaufmann of Carnes, MS, Eric Vasquez of Pearl, MS, Hidi Loper of Carnes, MS, and Tanya Kerr of Pass Christian, MS.

Misty could light up a room (usually with gasoline and matches) and was well known for her beauty, attitude, and personality, but despite a colorful life, in the end Misty managed to find God through it all and dedicated herself to him. Renewed and baptized in Jesus name, she became the person God had always intended her to be. Her humor and heart will be sorely missed by all.

Misty has planned to be cremated and a memorial service is scheduled for August 23rd, 2025 at 322 Jacobs Rd, Poplarville MS at noon in the community room.

In lieu of flowers Misty requested that anyone who can, reach out and help the homeless. She was passionate about this. Mrs Cynthia at the field house homeless shelter on HWY 49 in particular.
