

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday October 10, 2011 at Murray Hill Church of God, Crossroads for Mr. Nathan Lloyd Stanford, 75, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died Friday October 7, 2011 at his residence. Reverend Bevin Joe Smith and Reverend Terry Bradley will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Pearl River County native, he was retired from the United State Air Force as a Master Sergeant serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. During his military career, he received numerous awards and citations to include the Air Medal with the Five Oak Leaf Cluster for meritorious service as an air crew member with the 1st Air Command Squadron during the Vietnam War. A member of the Church of God faith, Nathan also held memberships in the Poplarville Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4196 in Poplarville, MS and the American Legion – Magic City Post 24 in Bogalusa, LA.
Survivors include three brothers, Archie Stanford of Poplarville, Mississippi, Clyde Stanford and his wife Bobbie of Mullins, South Carolina, and Gary Stanford and his wife Shirley of Slidell, Louisiana; one sister, Cleo Williams of Daytona Beach, Florida; and a special friend, Norma Miley of Bogalusa, Louisiana.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday October 9, 2011 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
