

Ottis was a long time resident of Poplarville, MS. He was born September 14, 1938 in Harrison County, Saucier, MS to the late John W. and Ruth Saucier Wilson. Ottis was a welder by trade. He worked for many years in Pascagoula, MS at Ingalls Shipbuilding before going to work as a self-contractor in the oil field and then later to Wilson’s Welding Service, Inc.
A celebration of Mr. Wilson’s life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, MS, for 3:00 pm. Bro. Jeff Easterling and Bro. Walter Pierce will be co-officiating services. Interment to follow at Barney Hickman Cemetery, Saucier, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Glorine Shaw Wilson of Poplarville, MS; Step son, Travis L. Ladner; daughters, Priscilla Wilson Hagwood and E. Lachee Wilson Davis all of Poplarville, MS; three grandchildren, Ottis Brian “Matthew” Hagwood, of Saucier, MS, Corley Trey Davis and Deanna Renee Davis; one great grandchild, Abel Hayden Hagwood, all of Poplarville, MS; Brothers, Frank Wilson (Claudia), Saucier, MS, Billy Jack Wilson (Vallerie) Kiln, MS; Sisters, Bertha Redmond (Leland) Wiggins, MS, Judith Cuevas (Preston) Pass Christian, MS, and Myra Wilson Kiln, MS; Sisters-in-law, Charlotte Wilson Edwards, and Lola Dean Wilson, both of Necaise, MS; Son-n-law, Brian L. Hagwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ottis was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert G. Wilson, Kenneth Wilson and Phillip “Buzzy” Wilson and nephew Jonathan Wilson.
Ottis enjoyed working on his farm and spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a hard-working and well respected person. Ottis was a great man, provider for his family, loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.
