Priscilla J. Wheat

Priscilla J. Wheat departed this life into God’s presence on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 91. Priscilla was born in Las Angeles, California on October 1, 1933 to Earnest “Red” and Dorothea Krimlofski Barton. After graduating from John C. Fremont High School, she enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving as a Senior Flight Specialist and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. While serving, she met her husband, “J.D” and started their family, traveling to many duty stations including Japan, Turkey and Alaska. In 1967 Priscilla made Poplarville home. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, loved animals and enjoyed saltwater fishing and spending time with the family at their camp on the coast every weekend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Barton.

Left to forever cherish her memory are her husband, James D. “J.D” Wheat; son, Jimmy (Sandra) Wheat; daughter, Angela Woodall; grandson, James (Shelby) Woodall and her brother Daniel (Bina) Barton. Priscilla also leaves behind a host of cousins and other family members.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 3:00pm.
