Richard R. Sims, 93, of Poplarville, MS, passed away on December 20, 2015 at his home on Beverly Hills Drive. A memorial is planned for Mr. Sims at 10:00 am on Thursday January 7, 2016 at White Funeral Home - Poplarville. His wife was the late Kathleen Sherman Sims of Poplarville, MS.
Mr Sims was the son of the late Zachariah B. Sims and Lucy B. Sims of Atlanta Georgia. He is survived by his sister, Agnes S. Adams of Atlanta Georgia and 9 nieces and nephews and 12 grand nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sims served for 25 years in the US Marine Corp and was a decorated hero in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was involved with law enforcement in the Poplarville area and after achieving his masters degree he was a professor of Criminal Law for several years.
