

Robert Jackson, age 85, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully departed this life to enter God's eternal presence on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. He was born on June 17, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to James and Dorothy Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Jackson.
Left behind to forever cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 44 years, Mona Jackson, his brother Harold Jackson, his six children: Robert Jackson Jr., Beryl Coote (David), Rebecca Lozada (Pedro), Tammy Kinchen (Tim), Steven Bourgeois (Susie), Michelle Keith (William), twelve grandchildren: Kristen, Jessica, Kasey, Steven Jr., Jeffrey, Robert, Holly, Anna, Mark, Caleb, Jacob, Joshua, and six great-grandchildren: Layla, Ashlyn, Trey, Rowan, Michaela, and Camille.
In his youth, Robert served his country proudly in the US Air Force. Upon returning home, he dedicated himself to serving his community, joining the New Orleans Police Department. After his retirement from the police force, he continued his commitment to safety and security as the Director of Security at Methodist Hospital.
For 35 years, Robert was a faithful resident of Poplarville, Mississippi, where he was an active and devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, receiving the esteemed Lumen Christi Award for his unwavering dedication to his faith and community.
Known for his warm sense of humor, Robert brought joy to those around him. He had a passion for learning and exploring new places, and he treasured the time spent with his family above all else. His love knew no bounds, and his legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In honoring Robert Jackson's memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a man deeply loved, and a soul now at peace in the embrace of God's eternal grace. May his spirit continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Robert's visitation on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 12 Bilbo Hill Drive, Poplarville, Mississippi. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery, 379 W Seneca Road, Lumberton, Mississippi.
