William Spiers

William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed his job as a heavy equipment hauler with Hensley R. Lee Contracting, J.C. Lee Contracting, and was a well known fisherman in the area. Prior to working for HRL Contracting, he was a longtime brick mason.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Deward H and Mary Yvonne Jarrell Spiers; and two sisters, Vondel Bowden and Paulette Rivero.

Family members include his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara I. Spiers; three daughters, Erica (Alan) Hennis, Amanda (Larry) Tester, Yvonne Spiers; four grandchildren, Braxton Guerra, Bryson Guerra, Ashlynn Guerra, Creek Hennis; mother-in-law, Jane Parker; one brother, Deward H, (Buddy) Spiers; his best friend, Carlis Burge; a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home (315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Holliman Cemetery (36 Holliman Cemetery Rd, Carriere, MS, 39426). The family will receive friends and have visitation two hours prior to the service, Wednesday at the funeral home.
