

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dave Thomsen. In the late evening hours of April 26, 2019 Dave passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Dave is survived by his mother Herdis, wife Marisa, daughter Kailey and 4 beautiful grandchildren; sisters Annette (Darwin), Carol (Manny), Adriel (Christopher), Lorette; He is preceded by his father Vagn and brothers John, and Allen.
Dave was born on July 30th 1960 in Port Alberni B.C. In 1989 Dave moved to Mackenzie B.C. to start his career in the Forestry Industry. Dave was an extremely dedicated worker, he was proud to have 28 years of service with the Canfor Sawmill and became an accomplished millwright.
Dave was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was passionate about his Harley Davidson, he enjoyed taking road trips with friends and participating in charity events such as the annual Toy Run.
Dave also had a passion for the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, boating, he took full advantage of the beautiful wilderness Northern B.C. has to offer. Dave looked forward to his annual trips home to Vancouver Island where he enjoyed the hot summers, cool lakes, and spending time with his loved ones.
Dave was an amazing Son, Dad, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle, and friend. He had an infectious laugh, an enormous heart, and incredible work ethic. He was dedicated to his loved ones and adored spending every moment possible with his grandchildren and sharing his wisdom and philosophical sayings with them “Life moves, grow with it”. Dave was courageous, strong and positive throughout his entire journey. He will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held to remember and celebrate the amazing person Dave was on Sunday May 5th at 1:00pm, at the Hansen Hall, 3940 Johnston Road Port, Alberni B.C.
