Fern was one of the "old-time" loggers. He worked in the logging industry for over 44 years throughout Quebec, Ontario and finally BC. He enjoyed doing many activities over the years - from spending time with family to travelling, camping, visiting historical sites, hiking, hunting, reading, attending sporting events, woodworking and logger sport competitions. Fern kept the logger's schedule in retirement and continued to work around the farm until his health started to decline in April 2021.
