Gordon "Gordy" Roger Miles

Gordon was born on August 1, 1950 in Calgary Alberta and was the oldest son of Helen and Don Miles. Gordon’s family moved to the Alberni Valley in 1960 and he attended Beaver Creek Elementary, AW Neil and ADSS.

Gordon was predeceased by his father Don. He is survived by his mother Helen Miles, brother James Miles (Wanda) from Stirling, Alberta and sisters Joan Dahlman (Rob) and Linda Mann (Terry) both of Port Alberni, nieces and nephews Corby Urban (Kelcie), Becca Pritchard (Dave), Joseph Dahlman, Laura Dahlman (Aaron) and Kris Mann (Jessica). He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, 3 aunts, cousins and many friends.

Gordon began working at the Alberni Pulp and Paper Mill in 1969 and retired in 2008. Gordon loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He also loved the outdoors and in later years enjoyed computers and photography.

A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay. Cremation has taken place.
