James Messenger passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the age of 85. Born in Vancouver, Jim also resided in Lantzville, Victoria and Burnaby before retirement in Parksville and most recently Port Alberni. Jim was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Gladys, his older brother Robert, twin brother Jack and grandson Alec Messenger. He is survived by his loving sons Stuart (Pat) and Byron (Sue); cherished grandchildren: James, Theresa, Maureen, Michael, Haley, and Kady; 5 great grandchildren; 17 nephews and nieces; a multitude of great-nephews/nieces and many dear friends.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Friday November 28th at 1:00 pm at the Alberni Italian-Canadian Fraternal Society, 4065 Sixth Ave., Port Alberni BC. Refreshments and social to follow until 4:00 pm.
