She is predeceased by her husband Durward, daughter Verna Beaty as well as sisters Lena Lomnicki, Helen Leader and Annie Stubbs and brothers John Dowhanuik, Peter Dawson, Alex Dowhanuik and MMike Dowhanuik. She is survived by her children, daughters: Deanna Britt (Bruce) and Darlene Ruel (Real); sons: Rick (Eileen), Randy and Wayne; brother William Dowhanuik and 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A celebration to honour both Mary and her husband Durward will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, starting at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2013 .
