Newman, Mavis passed away suddenly in Port Alberni on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
Predeceased by husband Ray, sister Kay Foster and brother-in-law Russell Foster, Mavis is survived by children Dan, Ken, Denise Morris, and Jim; grandchildren, Nicole, James and Emily.
Born and raised in Port Alberni, Mavis spent many of her hours volunteering at the West Coast General Hospital Gift Shop and at Fir Park Village as part of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and crafts, and traveling on many of the Sunshine Club bus trips.
A Service of Rememberance will take place at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 30, 2010 from Trinity Church, 4766 Angus St, Port Alberni. Cremation has taken place. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
