
Ramona was born at Polly's Point near Alberni, BC; she was delivered by her paternal grandmother Emma David. Ramona's parents were Dave Taylor of Tseshaht First Nation and her mother was Elizabeth Cole of Squamish Nation.
Ramona had five children: Elizabeth Darlene Hope with Adam Shewish and Wilma Laura, Pamela Ruth, Marcia Sybil Denise and David Timothy Walter with Wesley Gus. From those children Ramona had 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Ramona had an older half-brother George Paull and an adopted brother Timothy Nelson Taylor who have also passed on. Ramona is survived by all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild and many, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews and more.
Ramona had many profession from the Royal Canadian Air Force, nurse's aid at Nanaimo Hospital, Tseshaht Band Councillor, Tseshaht Band Administrator, Director of Port Alberni Friendship Centre; teacher's aid at Grandview School but most memorable was her art, her carvings and her quilts in later years. Ramona has been retired for about 20 years and has been attending Elders Groups at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre and the Aboriginal Mother's Centre in Vancouver.
