Mum had a special place in our hearts and will leave a void in the lives of all she touched. Rowena was born and raised in Cherry Creek, never leaving the valley. She was also the last to pass in the large Chase family.
Survived by her loving family, son Norman Smith, daughter Cheryl (Glen); granddaughters Alisia (Tyler), Crystal (Mike) grand grandchildren Grace and Wesley Servatius, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Over the years Mum wore many hats from her first job at Brockman kerr, then selling Fuller Brush, working $1.49 Days at Woodwards to finder her place at Woolworth and the Bargain Shop. Mum was there until she retired at 65 years. Keeping busy, she went into the volunteer work at a few placed, for 20 years she went around the valley doing healing touch at Abby Field, Fir Park and private residences doing what she could to provide relief to patients and their families.
Running the Fir park story by ordering and picking up special items for residents and service on special occasions. Mum was drawn to help people in need no matter what the problem. Rowena spend the last few years in her home where she was well taken care of. She enjoyed family and friends that dropped by to see her. Covid made it very difficult for us to enjoy each other as much as we would have liked.
Our family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Fraser and leslie for all the assistance they have provided for mum over the years. It was greatly appreciated more than words can express. Thank you, Lorna, for the friendship and care you bestowed on Mum. You won her over.
Donations may be made to Parkinsons, or the Arthritis Society in lieu of flowers.
Many thanks to all.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.chapelofmemories.ca for the Chase family.
