Vittorio Zanetti

January 23, 1925 – August 3, 2011

Vittorio Zanetti passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on August 3, 2011 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his mom and dad and one brother; he is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ada Zanetti (Furletti); daughters: Carmen (Nick) Klemencic, Nori (Dan) Mercer; son Enzo Zanetti; grandchildren: Melissa (Travis) Cross, Christina Klemencic, Danny Klemencic, Tyler Mercer,

Jennika Mercer and Valina Zanetti; great –grandchildren Nicholas and Nolan Cross. One sister in Tenno, Italy Mafalda (Giovanni) Bonomi; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws as well as friends throughout Italy, New York, New Jersey and Canada.

Vittorio moved to Port Alberni, BC in November 1956. He worked at the Somass Mill from 1960 to 1989. He was a member of the Italian Canadian Society for over 50 years. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, working his garden and making his wine. A caring and giving man, he was always there to lend a helping hand to his neighbours.

Prayers will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Chapel of Memroes Funeral Home, 4005 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC. Funeral Mass will take place at 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni, BC with Father Stephen Paine officiating.
