

He moved to Port Alberni as a young child with his parents and brother. As a young man he worked at MacMillan Bloedell until retirement. He also did private butchering for John Sawchuck. In 1978 he moved his beloved family to Qualicum Beach where he lived for 40 years until he became ill and moved back to Port Alberni to be closer to family. He loved wood carving, gardening, bird watching and Keno. His grand children were the apple of his eye from the time they were born till the day he passed.
He was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Fern Caldwell and his younger brother Barry Caldwell.
Survived by: His wife Joyce (nee McDonald), children Debbie Langstaff (Darryn) and Shelly Caldwell (Bonnie). Grand children, Alyssa Tillapaugh, Ethan Caldwell, and Owen Caldwell. Brothers, Lorne Caldwell (Alice), Ken Caldwell (Nancy), Mel Caldwell (June), Sister, Margaret Kerr. Many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nandra for her continued support during his final years. The Homecare Support Team of Port Alberni for their loving care. Dale looked forward to the camaraderie and encouragement they showed to him during every visit.
As per Dale’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers a donation to Parkinsons, diabetes, cancer or any charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Thank you all for your love, support and comfort during this difficult time. Dale always had a smile for everyone and a twinkle in his eye and he will be surely missed.
