Predeceased by his wife Thelma (1990).
Survived by his loving sons Gerald (Valri), and Eric; daughter, Betty Molley (Kirk). Lovingly known as Grandpa Bill to his grandsons Galen and Brock, step-grandchildren Melanie and Eric and great grandson Chase. Bill will also be sadly missed by his “Angel” companion Helen Hoffman.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Bill served in the RCAF overseas during WWII. After the war Bill worked for Carling Breweries for 48 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, and curling as a member of the Marpole Curling Club on the mainland. He loved to sing and dance and never turned down an opportunity to act as MC at numerous events. Enjoying life with the company of many good friends he would be found cruising tropical Islands and travelling by camper van across Canada and the US.
In 1997 after numerous trips to Port Alberni for Curling Bonspiels, he was lured away from the Big City to make Port Alberni his new home by the curling crowd. He continued to enjoy life and activities with many new friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from the Chapel of Memories, 4005 – 6th Ave, Port Alberni with Captain Neil Wilkinson officiating. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
