Barbara J. Gade

Barbara J. Gade, 68, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away July 6, 2007. She was born April 8, 1939 in Arcadia, Wisconsin to James and Adeline Kjos Tenneson. She graduated from Central High School in LaCrosse and from the University of Kentucky in Lexington with degrees in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor of Health Science graduating with High Distinction. Barb was active in the LaCrosse community and in Lexington, KY in many organizations. She was very committed to her profession of Dental Hygiene. She resided with her husband in Lexington for 25 years and taught at the University of Kentucky. She was the Dental Hygienist at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, where she enjoyed taking excellent care of the dental needs of the many veterans. In 1998 she and her husband retired to Punta Gorda, FL. Barb enjoyed many activities including golf, water aerobics, reading, camping and especially traveling throughout the United States, the Caribbean and many foreign countries. She was an inspiration to all and she will be sadly missed. The love, kindness and sympathy shown to Barb and her family during her illness are very precious and will long be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon W. Gade, of Punta Gorda, FL whom she married on June 5, 1965; her mother, Adeline Kjos Tenneson of Onalaska, WI; sister, Sandra Rick Wing of Onalaska, WI and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Her father, James T. Tenneson and her brother, James A. Tenneson preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be held in LaCrosse, Wisconsin at a later date. She will be inurned at the Skogdalen Lutheran Church Cemetery in Timber Coulee, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
