
He was born on October 2, 1935 in Westborough, MA; the son of Clement and Josephine (Moran) Hackett. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1954-1958. He was a member of the Douglas (MA) Fish & Game Club and Blackstone (MA) Horseshoe Club. He moved to Florida to be with his children and grandchildren. David loved to fish and spend time with his family. With a beautiful, Irish smile and a gentle spirit, he provided his family with many cherished memories.
Survivors include his sister, Helen Ostergaard of Venice, FL. The father of sons: Jeffrey (Laura) Hackett; John (Solange) Hackett and Stephen ( Karen ) Ripsz and daughters: Annmarie (Rodney) Smith; Deborah Ripsz and Donna Towne. Grandchildren: Taylor and Marisa Derenzo, Madelyn Smith, Jordan and Connor Reid, Katelyn and Dylan Hackett, Alex Towne, Brandon and Kayleen Ripsz and Great - grandson Isaiah, and many nieces and nephews.
