
Donald S. Corbett passed away on February 3, 2011 at age 81. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Hanley Corbett. He is also survived by his three children, Marianne Corbett of White Plains, N.Y., Donald Corbett and his wife Rose Corbett of Somers, N.Y. and Patricia Hoynes and her husband Robert Hoynes of Cheshire, Ct. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kayla Hoynes, Alison Hoynes, Maggie Hoynes, Tim Hoynes, Julia Corbett and Katie Corbett.
Mr. Corbett was born and raised in Bronx, NY. He attended Iona College and New York Law School. He practiced as a lawyer in New York City, and the suburbs north of New York City for approximately 35 years with firms associated with Nationwide Insurance Company. During that time he lived with his family in Yorktown, NY and Somers, NY. He retired n 1995. Mr. Corbett last resided in Englewood, Fla and Cape Code, Mass. He was a parishioner of St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church in Englewood, Fla and Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Harwich, Mass.
Between college and law school, Mr. Corbett served as a pilot in the US Navy and later the US Naval reserves. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. For the majority of this active duty service, Mr. Corbett flew the P2V Neptune, a land based submarine hunter that patrolled the North Atlantic Ocean.
