Dorothy Swift Smith 65 of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on October 12, 2010 in Port Charlotte Florida. She was born on April 29, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut and came to this area in 2004 from, Branford, CT. She was the co-owner of High Tech Fire Protection Co, located in Branford, CT.

Dorothy was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #2121 of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Pilgrim

United Church of Christ. She was graduate of Morgan high school class of 1963. She graduated from Middlesex Community College, with an associate degree in English. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James E. Smith of Punta Gorda, Florida; her 6 sons, James D. Smith (Anne) of North Haven, CT, Christopher R. Scully of Fort Lee, SC., Michael K. Smith (Annissa) of

Easy Haven, CT, Timothy P. Scully (Julie) of kensington, CA., Robert Scully of Tennessee Colony, Texas, Shawn Hulick of Tulsa, Oklahoma. 2 daughters, Paula Gay Selmquist (Kurt) of Northford, CT, and Kelly Ann McCann (Scott) of West Haven, CT; 2 brothers, Gordy Whiteman (Andrea) and Gregory Whiteman

(Charlene) both of Guilford, CT; 3 sisters, Betty Abel of Guilford, CT, Wilma Giampiccolo of Tarrytown, NY and Patricia Scully of Clinton, CT. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Gilbert Lee Whiteman of Guilford, CT and Thomas C. Whiteman of Sequim, WA.

Memorial services Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrim United Church of Christ 24515 Rampart
