Edward W. Secker, 82, of Port Charlotte, FL died October 6, 2009. He was born August 13, 1927 in Hinsdale, IL and moved to this area in 1958 from Chicago, IL. Mr. Secker is a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was the Owner and Operator of Charlotte Metals in Punta Gorda before retiring in 1978. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Naples, FL, lived in St Croix, UVI for four years, moved to Orange City, FL and returned to Port Charlotte in 1996. He was an avid boater and was a former member of the American Legion Post 103.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlotte "Coty" Secker of Pt Charlotte, FL; their sons, Shawn Cheryl Secker of Pt Charlotte and Patrick Secker of St Croix, UVI; grandchildren, Tosha Post and Jason Secker; a sister, Fran Ramsden of Chicago, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday October 14, 2009 at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
