

Frank Joseph Calabro passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017 in Venice, FL at the age of 84. He was born on May 11, 1932 in White Plains, NY to Joseph and Palma Calabro. He lived in Peekskill, NY where he and his wife Dolores raised their four children and made beautiful memories. He served four proud years in the US Navy and received a letter of Commendation for his excellent service. He was Co-founder with his Brother Bruno of Little Bear Wheel Alignment in Montrose, NY - which is still run by the family. He was manager of Mylen Industries Spiral Stairs where he was instrumental in maintaining employee morale and increasing efficiency of production. Frank was an avid golfer. He loved the game so much that after retirement he and Dolores moved to Venice, Florida where they purchased and successfully ran Sorrento Par III Golf Course for many years.
His children will remember him as a wonderful, funny, and caring man with a lot of love to give to all. He gave them great encouragement to pursue their own dreams and goals. He was an amazing husband and father with a heart of gold.
Frank (AKA Pop) is survived by Dolores, his loving wife of 63 years, his sons Joseph Calabro, Frank (Melodie) Calabro, Dean (Becky) Calabro, his daughter Palma Calabro (Gary) Lee, and his sister Marie Calabro (Joe) Renda. Frank is also survived by his grandchildren Angie (Matt), Gary (Dierdre), Tyler (Lacy) Lee, Michael and Sarah Calabro and his 3 beautiful great grandchildren. He comes from a very large family with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He has touched so many people with his amazing love and care for others. The family would like to thank; Dr's Soordal and Shanthi Prakash for their efforts, care and dedication.
There will be a gathering to celebrate his life on Friday January 20th at 1:00 pm at the Bay House in the Bay Indies community in Venice FL.
