Hazel Jane Isern, 80, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on March 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving daughter Yolanda and her granddaughter, Bri. Hazel was born in Mulberry, FL on September 11, 1931. She spent many years in Puerto Rico before moving to Port Charlotte in 1987. She worked briefly at South Port Square during the late 80's and also at the Punta Gorda Wal-Mart during the 90's. During her spare time, Hazel loved to be with family, reading, cooking or doing one of her many sewing or craft projects. She also was an avid crossword solver. Hazel was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her children, Yolanda Phelps of Port Charlotte, FL and Hector Isern of Youngstown, OH; sisters, Margaret Judy and Edna Berenschot both of Port Charlotte, FL. She also leaves several grandchildren, a great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for their loving care, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, at tidewell.org.
