James Texeira Cruz, 95, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away September 29, 2010. He was born November 10, 1914 in Funchal Madeira Portugal, the son of James T. and Maria L. Cruz. He moved to the Port Charlotte area 23 years ago from Bristol, RI. Mr. Cruz was a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was an avid Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa "Terrie" Ramos, grandchildren, Fred, Terrie Ann, Mike and Susan; great grandchildren, Moriah, Jared, Victoria, Jacob, Jade and Teegan; his sisters, Elsie and Hilda. He was preceded in death by his wife Isabel da Luz Cruz July 25, 1996 and his son, James T. Cruz III in 1967.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrates at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Leo Smith officiating. Services and inurnment will take place in Bristol, RI on October 23, 2010.
