James A. Hetherington, 89, of Englewood, Florida died December 30, 2008. He was born September 5, 1919 in Midland, Michigan to Charles and Lillian McBurney Hetherington.
He moved to the Englewood area in 1978 from Michigan and was an Import-Export Expeditor for the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia.
He was a lifetime member of both the V.F.W. Post and the Elks Lodge of Englewood and St. David's Episcopal Church of Englewood. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma of Englewood; his daughter, Jill Donald Hetherington of Onion Lake, Michigan; his step children, Donald Findlay of Englewood and Joanne John Bradshaw of Sarasota, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He predeceased by his son James Hetherington.
A memorial service will be held at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m.
