Jessie J. Norton, 85, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away February 23, 2011 at her home. She was born December 18, 1925 in Seville, FL and moved to Punta Gorda in 1956 from Ocala, FL. During the late 60's she worked in the lunch room of Charlotte High and later became a bus driver for the Charlotte County School System, retiring twenty years ago. She loved caring for her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Ronnie (Velma) Norton of Port Charlotte, FL; Jerry (Lana) Norton of Punta Gorda, FL; Gary Norton of Bunnell, FL and Terry (Jan) Norton of Punta Gorda, FL; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sister, Mary Underwood, brother, Bud Henry and close friend Oueida Parker. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Norton in 1982 and her daughter, Sharon Toler in 2002.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm, Friday February 25, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday February 26, 2011 at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda with the Rev Ralph Burton officiating
