Joseph Anthony Mustachio, 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away
peacefully on October 13, 2022 in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born February 12, 1940 in Wayne, NJ to the late Joseph L. Mustachio and the late Elsie (Riker).
Joseph (Joe) attended Wayne Valley High School and also obtained
a black seal license. Joe was the quintessential “car guy” and owned hundreds of cars during his life. He also was a jack of all trades and owned many, many tools for all kinds of projects. He was the guy everyone came to when they needed a tool or some advice on fixing any problem. He thought he was a tough guy but really had a heart of gold and loved to help people.
He had a job he loved at Hoffman-La Roche Pharmaceutical Company and stayed there for 36 years. At the same time he also
owned The Black Forest Inn in Clifton, NJ and was really proud of that fact. When he moved to Punta Gorda FL in 2009 he purchased an office/warehouse bldg and went there everyday to work in his shop on all his vintage and not so vintage cars.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Janet (Stoddard),
his sister Irene Kuehm, his children Tim (Tracey), Kathy Psinakis, Joseph F. (Bonnie), Adrian Modrzejewski (Caroline) and Melanie Modrzejewski. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and by his great friend of 40 years, Fred Kouefati. And of course, his little princess pomeranian, Iyla.
A celebration of life will be done at a later date. Donations in his memory will be gladly accepted by St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
