

Karen was born August 14, 1958 in Livonia, Michigan to Agnes and Raymond Kushnir. She married Merle Kolberg November 2, 1991 in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin.
She and Merle worked together operating a successful general contracting business and recently retired here to Englewood in the fall of 2013.
Karen was very involved in the Moose Lodge 1933 in Englewood. She served as an officer in Woman of the Moose which she enjoyed very much. Karen was influential in getting a humane society chapter in McCormick, SC and volunteered many hours there at the humane society, she had a great love for animals. She loved to garden and travel, go boating, fishing, the beach and a good yard sale. Her grandkids made her happy, as well as all her family and friends.
Karen touched the lives of so many people with her thoughtfulness and kindness. She was always willing to help those in need. She would light up the room with her smile and she made everyone around her feel like family.
Karen is survived by her husband Merle of 24 years, her daughter Halsey Sleeter (William) of Iron Mountain, Michigan her 4 grandchildren Morgan, Monte, Julien, and Cami. Brother in Law Glenn Kolberg (Pam), sisters in law Julie McLain (Mike), Connie Majka (John), and April Harmon (Glenn). She had many nieces,nephews and cousins, as well as countless friends and her 2 four legged children Scooter and Wild Bill.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Agnes and Raymond Kushnir, mother and father in law Gladys and Henry Kolberg.
Services for a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday April 24, 2016 at 2 PM at the Englewood Moose Lodge 1933 at 55 W Dearborn St.
Karen will be greatly missed.
