Born "on the cusp of Aries and Taurus,” Lisa Leone (Boissonneault) was born on April 22, 1954 and lived almost her whole life in the state of Rhode Island, between Warwick, East Greenwich, and Coventry.
She passed away on July 17, 2023, in her new hometown of Port Charlotte, FL, at 69 years of age.
Lisa LOVED the beach, live music, watching birds (especially spotting red cardinals), fishing, dancing, singing out of tune, seafood, and sunshine. She loved to travel, mostly to tropical places like Aruba and Cozumel, and loved taking her chances on the slot machines in Las Vegas. She had a soft spot for old rock and roll and motown, especially the blues, and most notably Elvis Presley. She loved to tell the story about how B.B. King tried to get “a little handsy” with her and her girlfriends on his tour bus when she was in her late teens.
She enjoyed watching scary movies, and loved to misuse the word “slapstick” to describe any movie she didn’t like, like Dumb and Dumber or anything starring Adam Sandler. She would also rather sit in silence than listen to any modern rock music like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or any other loud 90s bands with singers who sounded like “they are dying.”
Lisa was preceded in death by both of her parents Alice and Gilles Boissonneault, her sister Tina Otis, and her daughter Alicia McLean. Lisa is survived by her husband Bob Leone, her son Brandon (Shonna) McLean, three granddaughters Breanna Lemoine, Olivia McLean, and Penelope McLean, and three stepdaughters Jill Leone, Julie Leone, and Kerri (Mark) Bergeron.
Lisa was cremated in Florida, and her wishes are for her ashes to be buried alongside her daughter Alicia, in West Warwick, RI. We will gather for a Celebration of Life luncheon in Cranston, Rhode Island on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Lisa was very adamant about "no black clothes," "no sad music," and "lots of flowers." We will honor those requests and tell stories of the good times with great people she knew and loved.
