Lorraine C. Feord, 84, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away February 11, 2010. She was born October 22, 1925 in Chicago, IL and moved to this area from there in 1987. Before retiring, she had worked as a teacher for the Magnet School System within the Chicago, IL Public School System for thirty years. Locally, she was an avid member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was the Capitol Campaign chairperson for the re- building of the Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Gary Feord of Punta Gorda, FL; brother, Jerry Furman of Dallas, TX and sister, Henrietta Preston of Crestwood, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda. Inurnment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in Lorraine's memory be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
