

Marc served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1976. After his service, he worked for various contractors in the construction industry. He became a licensed residential contractor in 1981. When the construction industry slowed down, he accepted a position as a Loan officer with First Federal Savings & Loan. While there, he became involved with the Y’s Mens Club, and was instrumental in building a childcare center for the YMCA. He also served on the Charlotte County Fair Board in the late 80’s, early 90’s.
He became a naturalized citizen on January 23, 1996.
Marc’s love of building homes kept calling him and in 1996 “Call M.A.R.C.” was formed. He built many homes and additions for many families, all of which appreciated his honesty, professionalism, and dedication to perfection. He retired in 2010.
During his lifetime he and his wife enjoyed many good times on their Harley Davidson. Marc also had a love of sailing and spent many happy times crewing on friend Paul’s boat. Marc was an avid race car fan and he and friend Bob attended the Sebring races every year since 1986, missing only one due to his daughter’s wedding. He had also started his collection of vintage cars the year before he passed away.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Laurette Laine. He is survived by his wife of almost 36 years Constance (Louey) Laine, daughters, Whitney Fleming (Brandon) of Orlando, Claudette Bennett of Charlotte County. Three grandchildren, Addison and Archer Bennett, and Ellyson Fleming, Brothers Claude (Patti), Yvan (Claudia), and Jack. Nieces Michelle Ross of S.C., Destinyanne Louey of N.C.,Nephew Desmond Louey of Sarasota.
Marc had many friends, and he will be missed by so many.
No services are planned at Marc’s request.
