Murray Lee Tiffany Jr.

Murray Lee Tiffany Jr., age 94, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Murray was born on September 25, 1928 in St. Louis, MO. At age 17 he enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served as a Corpsman. He went on to study at Drury University, and was then called back to serve in the Korean War. After serving, he completed his bachelor's degree at Drury University. He later completed a Master's Degree in Education Administration at Washington University. In 1955 he met and married Nancy Hoy. He spent the better part of his career working for the Parkway School District as Director of Pupil Personnel Services (Nursing, Counseling and Testing). He and his colleagues worked together to build Parkway School District to one of the largest school districts in the St. Louis area. He remains a legacy not only in his family but in the many lives he touched throughout his career and retirement years. He will be greatly missed.

Murray is survived by his wife Nancy and their three children, Murray (Daisy), Leesa (Dave) Thompson and Larry (Valerie); and their seven grandchildren Lizzy (Quentin) Spoonmore, Andy (Kristin), Emily (Brian) Primozich, Deirdra, Sara, Claire and Samantha; and their nine great grandchildren, Donovan, Dean and Calvin Spoonmore; Henry and Patrick Primozich; Hayden, Odin and Kase Hupfer; and Wesley Tiffany.

A service for Murray will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Day Church, 20212 Peachland Boulevard, Port Charlotte, FL 33954. A celebration of life will be held starting at 3:00 PM at the Town Hall of South Port Square retirement center, 23023 Westchester Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980. A graveside service will occur Friday, June 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
